My name is Shirley and I am from China GCS MMS team. Today I will share a customer story about YCI together with Andrew from PSA team and Ejo from IGT team.

So first up, I’m Shirley and I’m from the China GCS MMS team, and the 3 of us are going to be taking you through YCI’s customer story, so myself (from the China GCS MMS team), Andrew who is from the PSA team, and Ejo who is from the IGT team, will be going through that with you in a moment.

An ROI-driven dropshipper, currently transitioning to branding-driven DTC

A big believer in video with 90% of spending being on facebook, needing new methods of acquiring new customers.

So firstly, I’m Shirley, from GCS MMS, and I will be taking you through YCI’s customer story, alongside Andrew who is from the PSA team, and Ejo who is from the IGT team. 

So, the path from being a dropshipper to selling direct to consumers is generally a difficult and long road, and results do take some time to take shape.

“Within 5 years, YCI is looking to become a leading China exporter in the H&G industry / sector, and are looking to have sub brands in selected verticals established within this time frame.”

“They have been an ROI driven dropshipper since the company’s inception, and are currently in the process of transitioning to branding driven DTC”

add: initially they were looking to remain focused on dropshipping but as a result of our work with them, we managed to get them to begin focusing their attention on transitioning to DTC due to the potential of opening up a new channel to bring in customers.

“They’ve always focused heavily on facebook advertising, with almost all of their advertising budget spent on this, and are in need of new methods and channels to bring in customers.”

So the main pain point according to YCI is the method by which they continue acquiring new customers at a competitive cost, whilst balancing brand awareness & performance during the transition’s early stages, so this is the area we’ll need to be focused on to ensure the client’s satisfaction.
