strict < > lenient
eg. the policies are super strict / the boss is really strict

hypothetical – not real situation
eg. imagine you are rich, what would you do / let me ask you a hypothetical question

hypochondriac – sb who imagines sicknesses that they are inflicted with

cultural appropriation – to take a cultural thing and use it for your own things

compared with – to
eg. when comparing apples to oranges, we can see that one is hard while the other is soft
eg2. Apples compared to oranges, are relatively hard.

the = obvious / able to assume
