If I want to go to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert [to join]/[for] Burning Man, I need to rent a limo and book a ticket. I want to understand why people are so [obsessed with]/[obsessive about] Burning Man. My curiosity is the reason why I want to go there. My boyfriend wants to go to the meditation community to experience [how to meditate]/[meditation]. I want to see how people build a temple and at the end leave no trace, burning [everything]/[it all].

Grammar

Want -> If you use “want” + a verb, then you need to use “want to” + simple verb (don’t use verb+ing). If you use “want” + a noun, then you don’t need “to”

ex: I want eat ice cream. I want to eat ice cream.

ex: I want to ice cream. I want ice cream.

When writing, always capitalize “I” when you type it by itself when talking about yourself. Also, always leave a space after any punctuation mark that ends a clause (, . ! ? etc.) . Always capitalize the first letter of each word in a proper noun (a person or place or thing that has a special non-generic name).

Use a comma when separating items in a list of 3 or more items, or when connecting two complete sentences (subject and verb).

ex: 1. I like green, blue, red, and orange. 2. I went to Burning Man, and I had a lot of fun. 3. I went to Burning Man and had a lot of fun.

Subject verb agreement:

Third person singular noun (David, He, She, The dog, The car), then when using the present simple tense verb, always add an “s” to the end of the verb.

ex: He works, David teaches, She sings, The dog barks, The car crashes.

For first person, second person, or plural nouns, then when using the present simple tense verb, don’t add an “s” to the end.

ex: I teach, You work, The dogs bark, The cars crash, They learn, etc.

Articles – “a” “an” and “the”

For “the”, use it before nouns where the noun refers to someone or something very specific.

ex: I want to eat the [apple]/[apples]. I want to eat [an apple]/[apples].
