Vocabulary

photogenic: (adj)shang xiang
ie. Many people don’t believe that Kris Wu actually isn’t very photogenic. He looks better in real life. /in person/ in reality.

make-up: (n) hua zhuangpin (v) hehao / mi bu
ie. I like wearing make up.
ie. You should make up with that boy who keeps calling.

piss sb off: (v)make sb angry  (adj)pissed off.
ie. The guy who is new to your department pissed off my boss so he’s in big trouble.

reflection: (n)jing xiang, ying xiang
ie. You should reflect(v) on what we talked about.

self-reflection: (n) zi wo fan xing
ie. After you messed up another project, you need some self-reflection.(n)/you need to self-reflect(v).

front/cover: (n) jia xiang jiekou
ie. Asking to be his friend is just a front. She wanted to date him.
ie. Cida uses work as a front.

moral of the story: gu shi de yuyin; general usage: zong jie
ie. The moral of the story is that you should never piss off your boss.

entry-level: (adj)gang ru gong si de
ie. Although he came to the company early, he is still an entry-level employee.

Grammar

-ever + sentence
ie. I want whatever you want.

To like and To be are different:
I don’t really like him. (verb is to like)
I’m not like him. (verb is to be)

Use “wear” for anything that’s not your own (makeup, mask, glasses, shoes…etc)
I wear make up.
Why are you wearing your hair like that?

The weather is hot.
The outside temperature is hot.
The weather is nice/bad.
It’s too hot.
