stay = 呆，留下

at= 在
ie. I ate breakfast at 8 o’clock.

week = 星期
ie. Next week, I will stay at home.

month = 月

magical = 神奇的

school bus = 校车
ie. My favorite book is “Magical School Bus”.

hour = 小时
ie. I read for one hour.

subway = 地铁
ie. I take the subway to school. 

Grammar

What have you been up to = What have you been doing = What’s up? 你最近都做了什么

For how long.. = 多久/多长时间
ex. For how long have you been studying English? I have been studying English/studied English for one year.
ex. For how long have you been taking online classes?  I have been taking online classes for three weeks.

PAST tense: 
go -> went
eat -> ate
stay -> stayed
talk -> talked
take -> took
see -> saw
read -> read (pronounced like red)

take + the 交通工具 = 坐…(交通工具) = I go to … by 交通工具
ie. I take the car to school.
ie. I take the subway to school.
ie. I take the plane to America.

Q: What have you been up to?
A: At home. -> I stayed at home, doing nothing.

Q: For how long have you been staying at home?
A: Ten days. -> I have been staying home for ten days.

Q: Do you like taking classes online?
A: I like taking classes online because I can stay home. 

PAST tense (过去式)

Q:What did you do yesterday?
A: Yesterday, I eat breakfast, and I read a book. -> Yesterday I ate breakfast at 8 o’clock, and I read a story called “The Magical School Bus”.

Q: Tell me something you did last year
A: I going to park with my mom and stay one hour. -> Last year/in 2019, I went to the park with my mom and we stayed for one hour.

Q: Make a sentence with a past tense.
A: Last week, I took the airplane to Beijing. (not “go to Beijing”)
