Write some conversation ideas/questions that you would have with an Agent who just arrived to China.

For example. You are just picking him/her up at the airport.

Vocabulary

Proof reading = to make correction, to edit something for a final version

introvert = they prefer to be more “inside themselves” or quiet

extrovert = like to do lots of talking and “outgoing”

Occasionally= sometimes, “on occasion”

communication= talk with each other, to share the information

achievement= to complete a goal,

to discover= to find, verb

organized= to keep things in order, adjective

style = a kind of arrangement, or approach to a situation (has multiple definitions)

e.g: His fashion style is casual.

environment= surroundings, what is around us.

eg. This company’s environment isn’t good for work. Maybe the offices are dirty or smelly. 

Kyle: What did you do this (past) week at work? So you were sending emails? 

Laura:

I was very busy in sending …. to European and Mediterranean agents… We are a forwarding company, its an import and export cargoes mostly to Europe. Some its just for arranging the meeting…. sometimes I pick up agents from the airport and during the… car ride… its difficult to communicate.

Laura: This past week I was very busy ! While I was at work, I was sending emails to agents in Europe and the Mediterranean region. On average I send about 30 emails in English per day, for me this Okay. Most of the time, I am sending short emails and the General Manager will proof read them.

Occasionally, part of my job is to communicate with agents who arrive to China. I would like to be able to communicate with them more easily in English.

I am very calm, organized, and analytical.  I’m good at the excel spreadsheet.

What do you know about our organization (Smart English)? 

At first I know about this in online. And my friend studied here I think three months ago. And then she recommended this school to me. F2F. In my school there were 40 students to one teacher.

I discovered this organization online. I also had a friend who studied here and she recommended this school to me. The style of this school is different than others, in this environment we are learning face-to-face with English speakers. In all of my previous English classes 20 or more students to one teacher.

Please describe the appearance and personality of you, General Manager, Tracy.

She looks very young and cute, but she’s very tough at work. She is strict with all the staff, she makes

tight rules on the work/ She is very strict but effective... but it is easy to solve the problem/ She is a wonderful person to work with because we get the job done.
