Over the past centuries, English has become the dominant world language, mostly because of the British Empire and the rise of the United States as a global political and economic superpower. Many linguists say that Mandarin Chinese will become the new number one language, because it is the mother tongue of over 1 billion people. China is on the verge of becoming a new economic superpower and many international corporations already advise their workers to learn Mandarin.

In the past, some attempts have been made to create a global language for everyone. A Polish scientist, Ludwik Zamenhof, invented Esperanto at the beginning of the 20th century.  His goal was to form a neutral language with easy words and grammar that is not so difficult to learn. Linguists claim that up to a million people use and speak Esperanto today.

Languages that are not actively spoken any more die out over a period. Linguists claim that 90% of the world’s 7000 languages will become extinct within the next 50 years.  Other languages, like Latin or ancient Greek, died out centuries ago, but are still needed in fieldslike medicine, biology, history or archaeology.

Today’s homework is about two generation’s relationship- My father and my son. My father only have one child, it’s me. In China of the past 30 years ago, due to huge population the government didn’t agree people to own their babies more than one. So my father loves me deeply. He gaves me all the best that he has. Now he love my baby more than me. It’s a specially emotion.
Recently my father got a business in Dalian. Dalian is a beautiful city beside Beijing. The distance between Nanjing and Dalian about 2000KM. So it means my mother in Nanjing, my father in Dalian and I am in Shanghai. The location shape like a triangle. But my father said it’s worth it. Because he wants to make more money for my son.
In my opinion, we can give our child the best in our ability that is ok. It’s no necessary to do hard work especially over our ability. Because life is short, we need to spend time get together.

Today’s homework is about relationship between two generations– My father and my son. He gave me the best he could. Now he loves my baby more than me. It’s a special bond.
Recently my father got a business in Dalian. Dalian is a beautiful city beside Beijing. The distance between Nanjing and Dalian is about 2000KM, as a result, my mother is in Nanjing, my father is in Dalian and I am in Shanghai. The location positions form a triangle. But my father said it’s worth it, because he wants to make more money for my son.

During Chinese New Year, in a room, many parents around me, like my grandmother, grandmother’s sister, my sister, my brother like a circle, and blah blah blah, if I stand opinion, two or three people will reject my opinion. My uncle said I represent the whole family power, and talk to second baby. It’s like they want the generation continue. This year’s festival, we talk about this thing seriously. In old China, my father didn’t have a chance to have another baby, maybe they feel I’m so lonely. He didn’t want my son feel lonely.

My husband didn’t give me that pressure, because when I gave birth to my son, my husband stay with me, and in that moment, my husband was cry. Everytime when he drink too much, he will tell everyone how I gave birth to my son, so my husband stand on my side. He didn’t give me any decision, he just told me, if you want to have another baby, that’s ok.

Yesterday, I booked basketball for my son. My son didn’t want to do any exercise, he won’t do anything. He told me “I didn’t want to eat fat meat, because I’m a little fat.” so we return. Three coach talked with him, but my son didn’t saw them one eyes, and put his hands in his pockets, and just stand there.

My father didn’t tell me directly, he just thought about it, never tell me directly. My uncle told me instead. During the Chinese New Year, all my family members were in a room, many parents around me, like my grandmother, grandmother’s sister, my sister, my brother, they tried to talk me into having a second child. If I oppose opinion, two or three people will reject my opinion. My uncle said he represents the whole family power, to talk me into having a second baby. It’s like they want the generation to continue. In this year’s festival, we talked about this thing seriously. In ancient China, my father didn’t have a chance to have another baby, maybe they felt my loneliness. He didn’t want my son to feel lonely.
