on the mend – in a bad situation before but its mending. (healing/fixing)

improving

more open:
open-minded

clarity – when you’re thinking clearly
My mind has more clarity now

straight thinker – a person who is thinking really clearly
After my business failed, I wanted to become more of a straight thinker so that I can improve myself.

positive: 
confident – belief in yourself
I want to feel more confident about speaking English

better outlook – getting good feelings from looking into the future
Now, I have a better outlook on life

good vibes – a cool situation or a moment that is really relaxing or makes you really happy.
If you were having a good time and took a picture of the moment and shared it on WeChat. The caption for the photo you can post could be as simple as “good vibes.”

Level 1, Super basic: I am sad. 我今天很伤心.
Level 2, Easy, but not so direct: Feeling gloomy.
Level 3, Slightly less direct (ambiguous): When it rains, it pours. (when life is hard, it is really hard)
Level 4, Poetic/artistic: I have sadness living in places sadness shouldn’t live.

sadness = is not a physical or living thing.

live living = home, a place to live in or a place to stay.
