Vocabulary
artistic side – a part of you that is creative or artistic
I want to join a cooking or dancing club to bring out (cultivate) my artistic side.
weeknight (n)Â – Monday to Thursday night
I only have a small amount of time on weeknights, so I prefer to explore my artistic side on the weekends.

Lily’s New Year’s Resolutions: goals/promises that we make to ourselves to improve in the new year

Feelings
Level 1, Super basic: I am sad.
Level 2, Easy, but not so direct: Feeling gloomy.
Level 3, Slightly less direct (ambiguous): When it rains, it pours. (when life is hard, it is really hard)
Level 4, Poetic/artistic: I have sadness living in places sadness shouldn’t live.
Level 1: I am wearing a yellow sweater.
Level 2:Â Wearing sunshine today. (sunshine = the colour yellow, the colour of the sun)
Level 3: Wearing yellow on my sleeve. (Wear your heart on your sleeve)
Level 4: May the sweaters I wear light the way. (May the bridges I burn light the way)
May the bridges I burn light the way. =Â The decisions and choices that I make will hopefully guide my future.
Burn Bridges: the bridge is burning (literal meaning), ending relationships/making a choice for yourself (metaphorical meaning)
Level 1: He is crying
Level 2: Tears falling from his eyes
Level 3: That boy and his waterfall eyes.
Level 4: I can see the sea in his eyes.
