The main reason for learning English is to do well in the job interview and be able to work in a foreign company. I want to communicate with foreigners because there are many foreigners in our church.

English Job Interview:

  1. Tell me about yourself: My name is John Park, I come from Anhui province.
I graduated in July, after that I started a small company with my partner. I worked for 5 months but I found out I didn’t like that job so I came to Shanghai. Now I live in my aunt’s home and I joined the church lately.
  2. What was a major challenge and how did you fix it: My partner and my boss always lied to me and I don’t trust them anymore. So I decided to leave the company. It was hard (challenging) to communicate with the government but I just focused on my job and just got things done.
  3. Greatest Strengths: Firstly, I’m a positive person and I am really hard working. I worked for my company for five months without taking a break and really focused on my job there. I am also a good communicator and enjoy talking to people. I’m also an honest person and I don’t like to lie.
  4. Greatest Weaknesses: Sometimes, I am not confident (intimidated) by doing things that I am not good at but I’m always willing to try. Sometimes I want too much freedom and flexibility, such as wanting to plan my own time and being able to work by myself.
  5. Managing Stress & Pressure: I like to travel and I can go to church to pray when I am feeling stressed. Because I know how to manage my stress, it will not affect my work performance.
  6. Biggest Accomplishment: Even though I have only worked for 5 months, I managed to finish the project myself with no other team or support. I learned the skills that I needed to finish the project myself.
  7. Why do you want this job: As you can see on my CV, I started a small company and I found out that it’s not easy to manage a company, in fact, I want to find a job in a big company to learn more about everything that I can. I also want to dress like a business person and feel professional when I go to work.
  8. Why did you leave your previous job: Even though I didn’t have a lot of experience or time spent in my last company, I left to find better opportunities for my career development.
  9. Salary requirement: I mostly want to learn from the company so the salary is not very important for me now. But I want at least 6,000 a month to cover living expenses.
  10. Do you have any questions for me: When can I start?
