Vocabulary

competition – 比赛
i.e. I will join a competition.

organize – 整理
i.e. We need to organize the information.

in charge – 负责
i.e. She is in charge of our name book.

contribute – 组成
i.e. Blue and pink can contribute to this painting.

guess – 猜想
i.e. I guess the percentage is about 60-65%.

rare – 稀有的
i.e. The blueberry is the most rare among all the pies.

first come, first serve – 先来后到
i.e. It is a first come, first serve base.

basic – 基础/基础的
i.e. This information is the basics.
i.e. This information is very basic.

First, we can see a pie chart. We can find/see 5 parts of this pie chart.

And then, we can see that this cart shows us how much does each country contribute to the whole idea.

Because we don’t know the title, we do not know what this pie chart is for and we do not know what number does each country represent. However, it is better to compare the percentage than just plain numbers.

The UK maybe takes up 15% of this pie chart.

We can see that raspberry pie takes up 48% of this pie chart so we can know that out of all the pies, nearly half of them are raspberry. 

So we can see that the percentage here does not represent the actual amount of the pies, but only the distribution of pies.
