Vocabulary

chip – gambling chip
i.e. You want to get as many chips as possible.

mind game – a game that needs mental tricks
i.e. Poker is a mind game.

festive – full of fun and special traditions

light firework /firecracker – 放烟花/鞭炮

reunion – 团圆

relative – 亲戚

pay respect  – 拜年

Do you think that CNY has gotten less and less festive over the years?

When I’m a child, the New years is very fun. The relatives will sit together and eat reunion dinner and we will get the red pocket and we will organize a short-term trip. One day trip…..

I think the festival is the family tradition when my mom will make sticky rice cake and turnip cake, all the homemade cake….. we will take the cake to our friend or our relatives to pay respect.

I think the pay respect is not normally. I think it’s the technology can let us use the cellphone to pay respect, or wechat….
