Writing exercise

The TOEFL and IELTS both are exams to certify our English proficiency. But they have many different characteristics. The TOEFL is more academic ,using formal expression. And IELTS tests more life-like content.
Seeing from the angle of Locations quantity, The TOEFL is bigger than IELTS . but there are more students around me to take The IELTS exam. I don’t know why. Maybe they think The IELTS is easier or more useful in life. Perhaps they want to go to European schools, I think The TOEFL is more useful in the U.S.
Their also grade differently. There are four parts writing ,reading, listening and speaking in two tests, but TOEFL’s grade is the sum of four parts and IELTS’s grade is average score of four parts. If I choose one ,I will choose IELTS ,because it is more useful in life and I maybe go abroad to graduate school in the future. I heard that IELTS’s reading is from foreign magazines or newspaper ,it’s really long and have many vocabularies ,I think I lack most is vocabulary.
