Writing exercise

hi Tony,

I was born in a small town which is called Linghu, the people here lived by fish farm, because here were a lot of rivers and lakes, but no mountains and valleys. Linghu is also an old town, it has more than 1000 years history. When I was small I remember that there were more 70 stone bridges crossed the river and a lot of old buildings stood behind of the river. The transportation didn’t rely on cars or bikes but boats
However, the town was totally changed now, all the small rivers are filled in and became streets, old buildings are re-build. It never looks like an old town but it is also not a modern town. It is still a town but normal. Some tourism company came to the town and consider if possible to revert to original looking, but the special things were ruined so it is difficult to redo.
Fortunately, the government start to pay more attention to adjust the environment, so the big rivers are keeping and figure out the pollution problem, flowers and trees are planted everywhere. The town will become a green garden.

Regards,
Amy

Hi Tony,

I was born in a small town called Linghu, the people here lived by fish farm when I was a kid, but now a lot of people work out of town. Linghu is also an old town, it has more than 1000 years of history. When I was small I remember that there were more than 70 stone bridges crossing the river and a lot of old buildings standing behind the river. Transportation didn’t rely on cars or bikes but boats.
However, the town has totally changed now, all the small rivers are filled in and have become streets, old buildings are re-built. It doesn’t look like an old town but also not a modern town. Some tourism companies came to the town and are considering if it is possible to revert the town to the original look(N.), but the special things were ruined so it’s difficult to redo.
Fortunately, the government started to pay more attention to change the environment, so the big rivers stay and figure out the pollution problem. With flowers and trees are planted everywhere the town will become a green garden.
