Vocabulary

I didn’t have to move to SH.

move somewhere – (Probably) to move to a new home, take all your things and live in a new home.

eg: I moved to SH last year.

eg: When did you move to SH? I moved to SH ten years ago.

eg: I moved to Beijing for my Bachelor’s Degree.

live somewhere – be at the place that is your home, or for a long time (At university)

eg: I live in SH. I’m just visiting HK today.

eg: I live in Pudong, but I stay in Songjiang on the weekends with my mom.

eg: I’m living in SH now after university.

stay somewhere – be somewhere for a short time, sleep for a few nights

eg: We are gonna stay at the hotel for 5 days.

eg: I stayed in xiapu for a short holiday.

Stay – not leave

eg: I lived in New York and stayed there for 10 years until I moved to Australia.

eg: They stayed on the bike for five days. They didn’t stop riding once.

eg: He stayed in a car for one month. He didn’t get out until 30 days had past.

How to write Essays:

Idea – The question you are trying to answer, or Idea you want to share.

eg: There is too much plastic pollution in the ocean. Small pieces of plastic are bad for us and the environment.

Evidence – Find proof or support for your idea.

1. Quote (this is not a real quote)

eg: Einstein knew that plastic would be a major problem, he once said, “Plastic is a great invention and will be a bigger problem.” He saw the problem before it happened. (Einstein 1934)

2. NEWS, Statistics, Numbers.

eg: 90% of students at SE are satisfied.

eg: 80% of people who go to University drink alcohol. So university makes you drink alcohol.

Plastic is the biggest problem for our environment. Even scientists from a long time ago, like Einstein, knew about this big problem.
