Vocabulary
organ – major parts of your body, brain, heart, lungs, stomach…
eg: Your skin is the biggest organ.
lungs – organs that you use to breathe
spine – series of bones, called vertebrae
eg: When I cough real hard I can feel a little pain in my spine.
Ct-scan
eg: He had me do a CT scan.
X-ray
beams
eg: Laser beam
eg: Beam of light
eg: Steel beams.
radiation – deadly energy produced by the sun and some things found on earth, produced by X-ray machinese and Nuclear bombs
eg: This machine is putting off a lot of radiation.
mercury – 1. the name of the planet closest to the sun 2. a silver liquid metal, can be found inside thermometers.
eg: Mercury is very dangerous to people.
eg: Some fish has a lot of mercury in it.
thermometer – used to measure temperature
eg: It’s so hot my thermometer broke.
therm – (part of a word) always about temperature
earth – 1. name of our planet 2. ground, dirt, rocks, soil
eg: We are from Earth, so we are called Earthlings.
eg: The earth movers (British) are digging a hole for the new building.
name (V.) – to give it a name
eg: My parents didn’t name me Jason. I chose that name.
