Baggage Vocabulary:
Bag:
Kinds of Bags: Suitcase, Backpack, Handbag, Purse(Women’s bag), Wallet(hold money), Messenger Bag, Packaging(special package for a product)
What you do with the bags:
Check (V.) Checked (V. past) – to give your bag to the airline, they put it under the plane
Checked (ADJ) Bags/ Baggage
Carry-On (N.) (ADJ) – the bag you take with you on the plane
Pack – to put things in your bags, maybe in order
Re-Pack – to pack again
Claim / Pick up – to go get your bags or luggage
Baggage = Luggage – Plural for bags or things you bring with you on a trip.
Baggage Claim (N.) – the place to get your bags
Security – the place or the people that check everything
Restricted (ADJ) – 1. a place that only certain people can go into 2. control how much of something you can take with you
Forbidden – not ever allowed by anyone
Inspect (V.) Inspection (N.) – to check for illegal things
Search – not as strong as inspect
Remove – take off, take out (of bag), take way
Metal – a strong shiny material, coins, knives… / Metal Detector – machine that finds metal and makes a noise
Scanner – a machine to see inside bags, or now even see inside people
