Vocabulary
sleepy (ADJ.)
eg: I’m so sleepy.
conscious – awake, not asleep, not passed out
eg: After the car hit him, he was unconscious.
pass out – to suddenly lose consciousness / go to sleep
eg: He passed out.
eg: He drank 4 bottles of baijiu (liquor) and passed out in his chair. (lose consciousness)
eg: I feel like I’m gonna pass out.
eg: I’m tired, I’m gonna go pass out. See you tomorrow. ( go to sleep)
jet black – very black and a little shiny
eg: Black Widow spiders have a jet black body, with a red hourglass shape in the middle.
matte black – a dull or not shiny black color
eg: I want to buy a matte black phone, because I like the matte feel.
opposite – the completely different one.
eg: Up is the opposite of down.
eg: What is the opposite of shadows? (in painting, art)
highlight – the very bright part of an image
eg: Highlights are the opposite of shadows.
midtones – all the colors and tones between shadows and highlights
