What was that word? The word was similar.

I didn’t think before / I never thought about it before.

it kind of is – yingai ba

yeah, that makes sense, makeup is kind of like painting.

painting is not a things to be a good job in for my future

I’m studying to be a makeup artist.

I’m studying to be a costume designer.        I want to be a designer.

I’m studying to do costume design.        I want to do design.

I thought it was too curly, so I straightened it a little with my hands.


special effects – something you can see in a movie, tv show, etc.. that makes it look real, but it is not real.

eg: I want to learn to do special effects makeup, so I can do makeup for movies.

scissors – jian dao

eg: I cut my hand with some scissors.

similar – lei si, almost the same

eg: Theater and film are similar.

stage  – the thing that people stand on when they act in a play in a theater. Or play a song at a concert.

eg: The actors are not on stage, but everyone is sitting down waiting for them. Yara is still doing their makeup.

eg: They are on the stage now.

eg: Go on stage.

backstage – the area behind the stage, usually for actors to change costumes or put on makeup.

eg: The actors are very serious before they acting backstage

eg: They are backstage now, and waiting to go on stage.

eg: Go backstage.

straighten – to make straight

wavy – in between curly and straight, for hair

eg: I don’t like my hair wavy.
