1 – Reading you resume, it seems you haven’t worked in a foreign company before, what kind of challenges do you think you would face?

2 – Our company currently has a problem. Our employee turnover is much higher than the industry’s average. What would you do to help to solve the problem?

3 – We are a foreign company and most of our managers are from abroad. We now want to switch to a Chinese leadership for our organization in China. How can you help with that?

1. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Well I’m really excited by this position at your company, I’d like to be seen as someone with deep expertise in the HR sector, and my professional experience can help the company improve its management systems and solve HR problems. I’m also really excited to take on more managerial responsibilities in the next few years.

2. What contribution do you make to a team/company?
As an HR manager, I should consider something in the position of the boss and I should be a forward-looking person who think about the needs of the company’s future HR development from an all-around point of view and I will take the lead in solving the problems faced by the team. I have designed a career development channel, salary system, and talent echelon for the company. I will also contribute my experience to the team without reservation.

2. Describe a difficult situation and what you did about it. (problem-solving ability)
I have met misunderstandings by others. I may be give people a colder impression, and I am more serious when I usually make my utmost efforts to fight for my point of view. When I realized that this was a misunderstanding, I tried to change my way of speaking and communicate with employees. I often treat afternoon tea or snacks to increase communication between colleagues.

4. Why are you dissatisfied with your present job? (why do you want to change a job?)
My work place is too far away, I spend 3 hours commuting every day.
Another reason is that the company’s personnel reorganization. All employees will be sent to nonnative companies. Because I am from Shanghai, I can accept short-term business in a nonnative company, I can’t adapt to long-term stay in a nonnative company.

5. expected salary?
I am now 190K annual salary. I expect the salary is 16K. I believe my abilities are worth this income.

6. Why should we give you the job?
Well, frankly, I am the perfect fit you are looking for. I have a 8+ years of experience in HR Management. I have sound expertise in HR Management and I master whole modules of human resource management. I have consistently out-performed in the capacity of a HR Manager in Shanghai Investment Center. I believe you require a person who can afford the position with many experience.

7. What is your major achievement?
I had completed the design of the compensation system and formulation of HR rules and regulations,including employee handbook, compensation and benefits distribution standards, driver management rules, etc.

I’m good at compensation and establishing HR systems.

I am very ambitious and I am willing to face challenges at work. I want to improve my position, salary, challenges.

I have sound expertise in HR Management and I master whole modules of human resource management.

I am a little bit shy when I meet strangers.

12. What kind of superior do you want to work with?
I never think about this problem. I think that as a good personnel manager, no matter what kind of superiors you meet, you can cooperate with him well. Because we need to consider more, plan for the company and the superior in advance, and solve problems which may come in the future. I believe that the person who works hard, no matter what kind of leaders will appreciate him.

(I spend  about 3 hours commuting every day and I feel this energy spent on transportation would be better spent on making my team stronger.)
Another reason is that the company is going through a personnel reorganization. All employees will be sent to other offices throughout China. I am from Shanghai, I am ok with  short-term business trips to other offices but I want to stay/remain based in Shanghai.

I currently have an annual salary of 190K . I expect the salary to be 16K monthly. I believe my abilities are worth it.

They are still using this system today.
