As a student I didn’t think too much about that I just learned the way I was taught at that time I thought some subjects were useless for example physics and maths and I was terrible at them.
I thought after all I wouldn’t use the subjects why would I be so confused about that. / why should I put in some efforts.
That is why in high school I chose to learn history and geography instead of physics and chemistry.
There are students who felt studying was difficult and they would quit or learn for another year but perhaps put them in a western teaching curriculum that would be different.
The Chinese way is rigid and examination oriented.

But now everybody uses alipay we do not need to count how much coins I need to get and receive. I think that is useless and the math classes are outdated.

The will to learn a language depends on each individuals if they want to learn they will, they will not be influenced by applications or tech.
If I want to read western literature I wouldn’t need the transcription if I learn English I can learn the original version to better feel the language.
If you stay in a company like that you use the language. If you chat with your client and get a phone next to you that wouldst be very convenient and sometimes it is not accurate.

The economy is the most important factor, if the country is strong and you do business with them. There must be big languages and small languages and small languages will disappear.

if a language disappears the whole culture will be disappear so historians will learn it as a research to keep that culture but that is not everyone’s job.
Locals speak our local dialect because our parents and grandparents develop habit of saying that and can’t speak mandarin so it is a must. but I am not sure if people our age return I think we provide a mandarin learning environment. If that happen our dialect maybe disappears as well.

the public schools get funds from the government but I am not sure if it is the central or local government but for private schools some companies will fund that.
There are expensive schools like Baoyugang. He was a business name and the school named by his name like elite school and students they have to pay a lot to get into the school besides during the summer or winter vacations families will give money to the school as well so they can travel abroad. so their after class activities are expensive .

Most people have the tendency to define you according to your school but it is not accurate I think especially if you are defined by the university you enter. if people defined you by the university you enter that would be more accurate. but parents tend to compare their kids with other kids.
