What did you do for the lantern festival (use the past tense)

It is very easy, my mother in law taught me how to make spring rolls, very easy, it was my first time to make spring rolls. Because I married with Shanghainese and Shanghai custom eat spring roll in Chinese festivals.
At midnight we see the moon and make a wish.
First every year the first of my wish is all of my family healthy.
2 my family happy or lose my weight or my husband get a promotion or get more money. But I think healthy is the most important.

I think before all of Chinese festivals are most interesting than now. When I was a child the atmosphere was warmer and interesting and many people congratulation the festival. But now the every festival is cold. I don’t feel the festival.
When I was child, my family or my cousin, many people together and eat something and very happy but now every family is far away so I didn’t feel the atmosphere.
