A: My boss he is the CFO of our company. He is a logical and he is focused on details. Everything we send to him, he will read it carefully and find out the small issues, like the English wording. I think that is because he is the CFO so he’s more serious relate to everything. Another characteristic of him is, he is very cheap. Every time we want him to invite us to dinner or afternoon tea, always he will reject our request. I think for the promotion and every year increasing, we have to argue with him and present many things to him. He can increase the percentage. We think it’s hard to get money. I remember last Spring Festival, he send a red packet in We Chat. It was 200. He insists on his own opinion, it’s hard to change his mind. He thinks he’s right and he has the solution / idea to solve the problem, the whole project, and you have to follow it. He will give you a general idea firstly, then you propose your actions, follow this general idea… he will look at it carefully and find out wrong – not wrong, – until he thinks it’s ok. We don’t want to try to persuade him. Most of cases, we cannot actually success. I think the good part of our CFO, he is focusing on ability. If you have higher ability, you get higher position and higher income.

She’s.. ability is not so good. Most of the things she done is not correct. At least she was fired.

It’s hard for me to promote now because..

A: My boss (he) is the CFO of our company. He is a logical man/ he is logical  and he is focused on details / detail oriented . He will read everything we send to him carefully and find out the small issues, like the English wording.
I think that is because he is the CFO so he’s more serious related/about to everything. Another of his characteristics is that  he is very cheap/stingy. He will reject/ he will turn us down every time we want him to invite us to dinner or afternoon tea.
I think for the promotion and every year salary increase, we have to argue with him and present many arguments/evidences to him. He can increase the percentage/rate . We think it’s hard to get money/a higher salary / a better compensation.
I remember last Spring Festival, he sent a red packet in We Chat. It was 200. He is stubborn, it’s hard to change his mind. He thinks he’s right and he has the solution / idea to solve the problem, the whole project, and you have to follow it. He will give you a general idea first, then you propose your actions/plan following this general idea… he will look at it carefully and find out what is ok and what sees wrong , – until he thinks it’s ok. We don’t want to try to persuade him. In most cases, we cannot actually succeed.
I think the good thing about our CFO is that is focusing on people’s potential / he sees the potential in people/ he is good at judging people. If you have a higher ability/ a higher skillset, you get a higher position and a higher income salary.

Her ability was not so good. / she wasn’t very skilled / she wasn’t good at her job.

Most of the things she did were not correct. At last/ eventually she was fired.

It’s hard for me to get promoted now because what I do is as china compliance representation I directly report to the regional office.
There is no high position between me and the regional compliance office. I don’t want to change to the other team in the financial department because I don’t want to go through the monthly closing period.
In the past I went through the monthly closing. From 24 every month until the 8th of the next month, there are half month to complete and you will find some issues and I have to finish these issues firstly and then I find I get to the next closing.
the problem is in our company our operation system is separably from the financial system we cannot daily interface so there is some manual work and interface error.
The database is huge compared to other industries companies and we have many branches in other countries. If we need to change the system we need to spend one or 2 years from country step by step so we have to set the plan and then within this change time some countries use the old and the new system so the database needs more manpower to do these transformation work.

The database is huge compared to companies in other industries and we have many branches in other countries. If we need to change the system we need to spend one or 2 years to upgrade countries one  by one/ the roll out/deployment of the new system would take at least 2 years because we would need to implement it one by one.

so we have to set a plan / timetable and then within this set time some countries use the old /legacy system and the new system at the same time / the legacy system and the new one would coexist so the database needs more manpower to do the migration.
