Advice:

Try not to use maybe as a filler or when you hesitate. You can use may/might/could in sentences instead.

Be careful about matching your tense.

Speaking

I went to Donghuan which is in the northwest of China. I have was there 5 days and I went back to Shanghai. Then I went to Suzhou to visit my parents and then went back on the last day.

There was a topic discussing if being tall/height is an advantage (for someone).

Generally / Most people think that  If you are taller than average you can earn more at work. You may also be more welcomed by friends.

If your height is shorter than the average the boss might pay you less.

In reality that may happen but I think it is not everywhere/it is not always the case/ not always true.

Below average

At the lower/upper end

It might be the main reason. In the last 20 years the economy developed fast. It is very different than before. In the 1970s many children couldn’t get the best food such as healthy milk and fruits. They couldn’t get plenty of food but it is abundant/ we have plenty/ more than enough now.

I think it was very different when I was a child.

I grew up in the countryside. I just ate the food from the field and I didn’t get milk or many kinds of fruits.

We grew and ate our own food. We didn’t have much milk or many kinds of fruits.

We were happy to eat enough. We were happy to have enough to eat.

For my parents’ generation/ When my parents were young / they couldn’t get enough food and many old people died from starvation.
