Grammar

past tense 

1 – regular verbs  – verb +ed/d
Work -> worked – worked
travel -> traveled – traveled

2 – irregular verbs 
eat (present)- ate ( past) – eaten (past particle)
take – took – taken
drink – drank – drunk
read – read (say red) -read (say red)

Yesterday I ate(past) in a Sichuan restaurant.

Use the past particle together with have or be
The computer was taken (past particle) by my boss.
