wage/salary (n): the amount you get paid

e.g my wage is higher than his wage

pitiful (adj) making people feel sympathy

pity (V): to feel sorry for someone or something

e.g her life is pitiful

bargain (n)something on sale at a lower price than its true value

e.g you can find a bargain in some shopping malls

legion:a large group of soldiers who form a part of an army, especially the ancient Roman army.

e.g a legion of factory workers

metaphor: an expression, often found in literature, that describes a person or object by referring to something that is considered to have similar characteristics to that person or object

e.g “The mind is an ocean” and “the city is a jungle” are both metaphors.
