Writing exercise

Original:

We are living in a busy world, in which everyone wants to be busy to show that they are extremely desired and in high demand. When we have nothing to do, we will fall into a panic that we may be abandoned by the world.

As a lawyer usually I have to work nine or ten hours every day, sometimes even longer. At weekends, I have to attend some social activities to maintain my social network. I think I have already gotten used to such kind of work and life pattern. Today the internet of our office broken down, which made us could not access our email, documents system or do any legal research for a few hours, which really drove me crazy at the beginning. But later I realized that I could do nothing to change the situation, so I tried to calm down to see what I can do.

For the next three hours I just read a book about plants, which I bought a few months ago. I was totally relaxed during the reading. After that I realized that sometimes having nothing to do is also necessary for us. At least it can help us walk out the stress of work and life for a while.

As a lawyer usually I have to work nine or ten hours every day, sometimes even longer, and at weekends I have to attend some social activities to maintain my social network. I think I have already gotten used to such kind of work and life pattern. Today the internet at our office broke down, which made unable to access our email, documents system or do any legal research for a few hours, which really drove me crazy at the beginning. But later I realized that I could do nothing to change the situation, so I tried to calm down and just do something else.

For the next three hours I just read a book about plants, which I bought a few months ago. I was totally relaxed during the reading. After that I realized that sometimes having nothing to do is also necessary for us. At least it can help us set the stress of work and life aside for a while.
