(Source: www.breakingnewsenglish.com/1712/171224-singing-4.html)

Singing in groups could lower anxiety and depression. New research from a university in the UK and a community singing group called Sing Your Heart Out, looked at how singing in groups helped mental health. Researchers followed participants in free weekly singing workshops for six months. They found that singing in groups helped people recover from mental illness. It also helped people feel valued, lifted their mood, and increased their confidence.

The lead researcher said singing in a group helped people recover from mental health problems. He said participants reported positive effects on their mental health because of singing in the workshops. For some people, it was a key part of their recovery and well-being. The researcher said some participants called the workshops a life saver and that they saved their sanity. He said: “The key thing for everyone was [the workshops] induced fun and happiness.”

I got a shock message yesterday. The message was that our general manager in China will depart her job. So everyone is shocked with this message. So after her departure, our company will find a new general manager in China for the manager now is not a Chinese, she is from Hong Kong. So maybe our company management they think local Chinese is more suitable for the position. I feel upset about this thing. My line manager is pregnant. She will have her leave in next month. Many her work will hand over to me. That means I will have no line manager and no general manager from the next month. Maybe I will also have some chance to report to our Asia leader directly.

I got a shocking message yesterday which said that our China general manager will leave her job. Everyone was shocked by this message. After her departure, our company will find a new China general manager, and they want this person to be from Mainland China. The current manager is not Chinese, she is from Hong Kong, but our management thinks a local would be more suitable for the position. I feel upset about this, because my line manager is pregnant and will take maternity leave starting from next month. That means that a lot of  her work will be handed over to me and that I will have no line manager and no general manager from next month. Maybe this could mean that I will also have more opportunities  to report directly to our Asia leader.
