Speaking exercise

Original:

This morning I read a article about people misunderstanding of your subject. The article said many people will misunderstanding with your major in university. For example, I said I majored in English, and my parents will said “oh! The TV shows are speaking English, and you can translate it”, but in fact not every person majored in English can do the translate work. Another person tell a example he said he is majored in IT technology in school, and other people think she can help them to repair their computer, but in fact he learned about information technologies, instead of repair a computer. I think that’s very interesting, because people didn’t know the real things that the major was do.

This morning I read an article about people misunderstanding others’ professions based on their major in university. For example, I majored in English, so my parents often say “the people on these TV shows are speaking English, so you can translate it”, but in fact not every person who has majored in English can do translation work. Another person on the article gave another example. He said he majored in IT, so people think he can help them repair their computers, but in fact he learned about information technology, not how to repair a computer. I think that’s very interesting, because people don’t know what people from different majors actually do.
