Rohingya in humanitarian crisis, says UN
(Source: breakingnewsenglish.com/1709/170915-rohingya.html)

The United Nations has said Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar are facing a “catastrophic” humanitarian situation. Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have fled from Myanmar over the border to Bangladesh. The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said the Rohingya are escaping continued attacks from Myanmar security forces. Over 379,000 Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh since violence began last month. The BBC reports that whole villages have burned down. The Myanmar army denies it is targeting the Rohingya. The Rohingya are a mostly Muslim people who live in the state of Rakhine in Myanmar. They have lived there for generations, but Myanmar says they are illegal immigrants.

Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi is under pressure to act over the Rohingya. Many people are calling for her to be stripped of her Nobel Peace Prize, which she won in 1991. They say she cannot keep the prize while journalists are reporting ‘ethnic cleansing’ of the Rohingya in her country. Ms Suu Kyi has not condemned the attacks on the Rohingya. Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, has asked Myanmar to take the Rohingya refugees back. However, the Myanmar army said Myanmar could not accept them back. A spokesman said: “Rakhine ethnics (Buddhists) are our indigenous people who had long been living in Rakhine since the time of their forefathers.”

It’s a little exhausted today, because I had to attend a finance meeting today. First in the morning I tried to call a taxi, but actually no taxi came, so I had to take the subway to go to meeting place, but the place is not near the subway station and even the map not works so it takes me some time walking around to find the place. Finally I arrive that building, but they can’t find my name the address list, so I had to call the coordinator to take me to meeting hall. And that’s a whole day meeting, have different subjects, different topics, some meetings have different place, theres no guidance to how to arrive to other place where meeting is locating so it takes long time to find where the meeting it.

I’m a little exhausted today, because I had to attend a finance meeting that lasted all day. In the morning I tried to call a taxi, but it never came, so I had to take the subway to go to the meeting place. The problem is that the place is not near the subway station and the map did not work, so it took me some time walking around to find it. Finally I arrived at the building, but they couldn’t find my name on the list, so I had to call the coordinator and ask him to take me to the meeting hall. It was an all-day meeting about different subjects, some of them at different places, and there was no guidance on how to get to the other meeting locations, so it took me a long time to find them.
