Vocabulary

Fan (n): 1- an electric device with blades that turn quickly, used to move the air around. 2- an object made of folded paper or other material that you wave with your hand in order to move the air around. 3- someone who admires and supports a person, sport, sports team, etc.
E.g.: There was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan turning slowly.
E.g.: Fans are still used by many Spanish women during their hot summer as a means of keeping cool.
E.g.: He’s a great fan of country music.

Simulate (v): 1- to do or make something that looks real but is not real. (n: Simulation)
E.g.: In cheap furniture, plastic is often used to simulate wood.
E.g.: Ruth simulated pleasure at seeing Sam, but really she wished he hadn’t come.
E.g.: The computer simulates (= represents) different road conditions for new drivers to practice on.

Arrogant (adj): 1- unpleasantly proud and behaving as if you are more important than, or know more than, other people:
E.g.: I found him arrogant and rude.

Summer is coming. The weather becomes wery hot but I like summer wery much because I can wear a lot of beautiful skirts and other light clothes. It’s very convenient to wash clothes every day because the fabric is very light and the side of clothes is very small. I like eating ice cream so it’s a nice thing to enjoy it during the summer. In cold weather it’s not good to eat more in the cold weather. But there’s one thing I really hate because it’s the mosquito. I really hate the mosquito it always trouble me in the night. The mosquito’s son/sun/sound very boring so I can’t stand with it. I like sun but I also don’t like it because I will feel very hot (not the water) I will sweat a lot from my neck so it was not very comfortable I will feel humid.

In cold weather it’s not good to eat ice cream. But there’s one thing I really hate: during the summer the mosquitos always trouble me at night. Their sound is very annoying and I can’t stand it. Another thing I  don’t like is that I feel very hot and sweat a lot from my neck, which makes me feel uncomfortable.

Today I had an interview with a new manager because I want to move to another team. Before I started at this company, I had only had two interviews, so this was only my third one. Differently, this interview was in English. I’m waiting for news from them and up to now I don’t know the results, but I hope I can get the position. I am, though, very proud of myself for finishing this interview in English. If this was one year ago, I would have been scared of speaking English with foreigners, so what I did made me very confident. For that reason, I think the result is not important to me, as the interview alone has proven that I have improved my English. I think that if I don’t get the position, the most important reason is that I lack working experience, so I need time to accumulate experience and learn more from others.
