Psychiatry (n): 1- the part of medicine that studies mental illness.
E.g.: He studied Medicine and specialized in Psychiatry.
Psychology (n): 1- the scientific study of the way the human mind works and how it influences behaviour, or the influence of a particular person’s character on their behavior.
E.g.: Psychology is what helped her get through her depression.
Incentivize (v): 1- to make someone want to do something:
E.g.: We need to incentivize our sales managers to achieve these targets.
Census (n): 1- a count for official purposes, especially one to count the number of people living in a country and to collect information about them.
E.g.: We have a census in this country every ten years.
E.g.: She was stopped in her car for a traffic census.
Suppress (v): 1- to prevent something from being seen or expressed or from operating.
E.g.: She couldn’t suppress her anger/annoyance/delight.
E.g.: His feelings of resentment have been suppressed for years.
E.g.: The British government tried to suppress the book because of the information it contained about the security services.
E.g.: The virus suppresses the body’s immune system.
Tweak (v/n): 1- to change something slightly, especially in order to make it more correct, effective, or suitable:
E.g.: The software is pretty much there – it just needs a little tweaking.
E.g.: You just need to tweak the last paragraph and then it’s done.
Portray (v): 1- to represent or describe someone or something in a painting, film, book, or other artistic work. (n: Portrayal)
E.g.: The painting portrays a beautiful young woman in a blue dress.
E.g.: His latest movie is a grim portrayal of wartime suffering.
Presumptuous (adj): 1- A person who is presumptuous shows little respect for others by doing things they have no right to do.
E.g.: It would be presumptuous of me to comment on the matter.
