Vocabulary

Eyesight (n): 1- the ability to see.
E.g.: You need to have your eyesight tested.
E.g.: I have very poor eyesight. I need to wear glasses.

Print (v): 1-  to produce writing or images on paper or other material with a machine:
E.g.: I’m waiting for a document to print.

Novel (n): 1- a long printed story about characters and events that are not real.
E.g.: Have you read any of Jane Austen’s novels?

Imagination (n): 1-  the ability to form pictures in the mind.
E.g.: My younger son has a very strong imagination.

Imaginary (adj): 1-  Something that is imaginary is created by and exists only in the mind:
E.g.: As a child I had an imaginary friend.

Imagine (v): 1- to form or have a mental picture or idea of something. 2- to believe that something is probably true. 3- to think that something exists or is true, although in fact it is not real or true. 4- used to express shock or surprise, often at someone else’s behavior:
E.g.: Imagine that you’re eating ice cream – try to feel how cold it is.
E.g.: I imagine that he’s under a lot of stress at the moment.
E.g.: “Did you hear a noise?” “No, you’re imagining things/No, you must have imagined it.”
E.g.: She got married at 16! Imagine that!

Steam (n): 1-  蒸汽 (adj: Steamed)
E.g.: The tea is very hot. There’s a lot of steam coming from it.
E.g.: I love steamed dumplings (= xiaolongbao).

Fried: 油炸 (v: fry)
E.g.: I love fried rice.
E.g.: Do you want me to fry some potatoes for us? (fried potatoes = french fries)

Large (adj): 1- big.
E.g.: He has a very large apartment.

Stress (n): 1- 强调
