Vocabulary

Relative (n): 1-  a member of your family.
E.g.: I don’t have many blood relatives (= people related to me by birth rather than by marriage).
E.g.: All her close relatives came to the wedding.

Master’s Degree (n): 1- an advanced college or university degree.
E.g.: I have a Master’s degree from Georgetown University

Immigrant (n): 1-  a person who has come to a different country in order to live there permanently. (v: Immigrate)
E.g.: New York has a very large population of immigrants, who come from many different parts of the world.

Emigrant (n): 1-  a person who leaves their country permanently and goes to live in another one. (v: Emigrate)
E.g.: Millions of European emigrants came to America in the 19th century.
E.g.: Many of Germans emigrated from Europe to America in the 19th century.

Spring Break (n): 1-  a school holiday in the spring
E.g.: IMany students go to Mexico and other Latin American countries for Spring Break.

Conflict (n): 1- an active disagreement between people with opposing opinions or principles. 2- fighting between two or more groups of people or countries:
E.g.: There was a lot of conflict between him and his father.
E.g.: We wish to avoid conflict between our countries if at all possible.
