Vocabulary

Justify (v): 1- to give or to be a good reason for.
E.g.: I can’t really justify taking another day off work.

Helpless (adj): 1- unable to do anything to help yourself or anyone else:
E.g.: You feel so helpless because there’s nothing you can do to make the child better.

Hint (n): 1-something that you say or do that shows what you think or want, usually in a way that is not direct.
E.g.: He’s dropped (= given) several hints to the boss that he’ll quit if he doesn’t get a promotion.

Excuse (n): 1- a reason (often a false reason) that you give to explain why you did something wrong.
E.g.:He’d better have a good excuse for being late.
E.g.:She was just looking for an excuse to call him.

Elude (v): 1- If something that you want eludes you, you do not succeed in achieving it.
E.g.:The gold medal continues to elude her.

Split (v): 1- to divide into two or more parts, especially along a particular line.
E.g.: We should split the bill.

Prostitute (n): 1-  a person who has sex with someone for money
E.g.: She used to be a prostitute.
