Vocabulary

Encourage (v): 1- to make someone more likely to do something, or to make something more likely to happen. 2- to talk or behave in a way that gives someone confidence to do something.
E.g.: We were encouraged to learn foreign languages at school.
E.g.: They’ve always encouraged me in everything I’ve wanted to do.

Complex (n): 1-  difficult to understand or find an answer to because of having many different parts.
E.g.: It’s a very complex issue to which there is no easy answer.
E.g.: The film’s plot was so complex that I couldn’t follow it.
E.g.: The company has a complex organizational structure.

Competition (n): 1- a situation in which someone is trying to win something or be more successful than someone else.
E.g.: Competition for jobs is intense.
E.g.: There’s a lot of competition between computer companies.
E.g.: The two companies are in competition with each other.

Shortcut (n): 1- a route that leads from one place to another and is quicker and more direct than the usual route.
E.g.: I know a shortcut to town.

Grammar
