Vocabulary

Diversify (v): 1- to start to include more different types or things. 2- If a business diversifies, it starts making new products or offering new services:
E.g.: Millions of years ago, changes in the earth’s climate caused animal and plant life to diversify.
E.g.: Many wheat farmers have begun to diversify into other forms of agriculture.

Proprietor (n): 1-  person who owns a particular type of business, especially a hotel, a shop, or a company that makes newspapers:
E.g.: The hotel proprietor apologized and offered them a discount.

Proprietorship (n): 1- the situation of owning something.
E.g.: He was given  half of the proprietorship over the company.

Sole (adj): 1- being one only; single. 2- not shared with anyone else:
E.g.: My sole objective is to make the information more widely available.
E.g.: The sole survivor of the accident was found in the water after six hours.
E.g.: She has sole responsibility for the project.
E.g.: I have sole charge of both children all day.

Soul (n): 1- the spiritual part of a person that some people believe continues to exist in some form after their body has died, or the part of a person that is not physical and experiences deep feelings and emotions:
E.g.: She suffered greatly while she was alive, so let us hope her soul is now at peace.
E.g.: She’s one of those people who puts their heart and soul into their work.

Joint venture (n): 1- a business or business activity that two or more people or companies work on together:
E.g.: The website was a joint venture between him and his partner.
