Vocabulary

Gentle (adj); 1- calm, kind, or soft. 2- not violent, severe, or strong. 3
E.g.: She gave him a gentle smile, which made him feel much better.
E.g.: He’s very gentle with his kids.
E.g.: Swimming is a kind of exercise that is very gentle on your joints (关节).

Slope (n): 1- (part of) the side of a hill or mountain.
E.g.: a ski/mountain slope
E.g.: Snow had settled on some of the higher slopes.
E.g.: There’s a very steep slope just before you reach the top of the mountain.
E.g.: There are some nice gentle (= not steep) slopes that we can ski down.

Worth it (adj): 1-​ enjoyable enough or producing enough advantages to make the necessary effort, risk, pain, etc. seem acceptable:
E.g.: It was a long climb to the top of the hill, but it was worth it for the view from the top.

E.g.: Don’t distract her from her studies.
E.g.: The teacher had to separate the two friends because they always distract each other in class.
E.g.: Spending time with my sister is a good way to distract me from my problems.
