Vocabulary

Troops (n): 1- soldiers on duty in a large group:
E.g.: Thousands of troops have been stationed in the region for several years.

Salary (n): 1- a fixed amount of money agreed every year as pay for an employee, usually paid directly into his or her bank account every month.
E.g.: His monthly salary is €2,500.
E.g.: She’s on quite a good/decent salary in her present job.

Abide by sth (ph v): 1- to accept or obey an agreement, decision, or rule.
E.g.: Competitors must abide by the judge’s decision.

Eclipse (n): 1- an occasion when the sun disappears from view, either completely or partly, while the moon is moving between it and the earth, or when the moon becomes darker while the shadow of the earth moves over it.
E.g.: On Wednesday there will be a total/partial eclipse of the sun.

Withdrawal (n): 1- when you take money out of a bank account. 2- the process or action of a military force moving out of an area.
E.g.: The bank became suspicious after several large withdrawals were made from his account in a single week.
E.g.: The commander-in-chief was given 36 hours to secure a withdrawal of his troops from the combat zone.
