Vocabulary
Gardening (n): 1- the job or activity of working in a garden, growing and taking care of the plants, and keeping it attractive.
E.g.: My mother has always enjoyed gardening.
Earache (n): 1– a pain in the inside part of your ear.
E.g.: After I was caught in the rain I had a terrible earache.
Headache (n): 1- a pain you feel inside your head.
E.g.: I’ve got a splitting (= very strong) headache.
Toothache (n): 1- pain caused by something being wrong with one of your teeth.
E.g.: I have terrible toothache.
Backache (n): 1- a pain in your back.
E.g.: Gardening gives me such backache.
Stomachache (n): 1- a pain in the stomach (胃).
E.g.: The food from that restaurant gave me a really bad stomachache.
Sneeze (v): 1- When you sneeze, air and often small drops of liquid suddenly come out of your nose and mouth in a way you cannot control. 2- 喷嚏
E.g.: Cats make him sneeze – I think he’s allergic (过敏) to them.
Cough (v/n): 1- to force air out of your lungs through your throat with a short, loud sound. 2- 咳嗽
E.g.: The smoke made me cough.
E.g.: I coughed all night long.
Sore Throat (n): 1- a condition in which your throat is red and feels painful, especially when you swallow. 2- 喉咙痛.
E.g.: She has a sore throat and a fever.
Overtime (n): 1- (time spent working) after the usual time needed or expected in a job.
E.g.: They’re doing/working overtime to get the job done on time.
E.g.: I’ll need to work overtime this weekend.
