Vocabulary
Blur (n): 1- something that you cannot see clearly. (adj: Blurry)
E.g.: If I don’t wear my glasses, everything is just a blur.
E.g.: This photo looks very blurry.
Hygiene (n): 1- the degree to which people keep themselves or their environment clean, especially to prevent disease.
E.g.: Poor standards of hygiene mean that the disease spreads fast.
E.g.: People need o take better care of their oral / dental hygiene
Poverty (n): 1- the condition of being extremely poor.
E.g.: Two million people in the city live in abject (= very great) poverty.
E.g.: He emigrated to Australia to escape the grinding (= very great) poverty of his birthplace.
E.g.: Helping to alleviate poverty in developing countries also helps to reduce environmental destruction.
Overflow (n): 1- When a liquid overflows, it flows over the edges of a container, etc. because there is too much of it.
E.g.: The milk overflowed when I poured it into the jug.
E.g.: Because of heavy rain, the river may overflow its banks.
Euthanasia (n): 1- the act of killing someone who is very ill or very old so that they do not suffer any more.
E.g.: Although some people campaign for the right to euthanasia, it is still illegal in most countries.
Coma (n): 1- a state in which a person is unconscious and cannot be woken, caused by damage to the brain after an accident or illness.
E.g.: He’s been in a coma for the past six weeks.
E.g.: She went into a deep coma after taking an overdose of sleeping pills.
