Thunder (n): 1- the sudden loud noise that comes from the sky especially during a storm.
E.g.: A loud crash of thunder broke the silence of the night.
E.g.: That evening, the first thing that the people of Greensburg saw was a thunderstorm coming closer.
Lightning (n): 1- a flash of bright light in the sky that is produced by electricity moving between clouds or from clouds to the ground.
E.g.: That tree was struck by lightning.
E.g.: She changed her clothes with lightning speed (= extremely quickly).
Storm (n): 1- an extreme weather condition with very strong wind, heavy rain, and often thunder and lightning:
E.g.: A lot of trees were blown down in the recent storms.
E.g.: They’re still cleaning up the storm damage.
