Vocabulary

Reference (n): 1-  a mention of something.
E.g.: Knowing what had happened, I avoided making any reference to (= mentioning) weddings.
E.g.: I am writing with/in reference to (= in connection with) your letter from March 15th.
E.g.: She made a reference to her former employer.
E.g.: He made several references to his time in France.

Target (n): 1- a level or situation that you intend to achieve. 2- a person or a particular group of people that something is directed at, or that something is intended for.
E.g.: The target delivery day is the 10th of August.
E.g.: The target audience for the TV series is young people aged 13 to 18.

Allergy (n): 1- a condition that makes a person become sick or develop skin or breathing problems because they have eaten certain foods or been near certain substances. 2- 过敏 (adj: Allergic)
E.g.: I have no food allergies.
E.g.: I’m allergic to dust.

Mild (adj): 1- not strong or extreme.
E.g.: She can’t accept even mild criticism of her work.
E.g.: He only had a mild allergic reaction.

Hesitate (v): 1-  to pause before you do or say something, often because you are uncertain or nervous about it.
E.g.: She hesitated slightly before answering the detective’s question.
E.g.: “Do you love me?” she asked. He hesitated and then said, “I’m not sure.”
E.g.: If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me.

Attach (v): 1- to fasten, join, or connect something.
E.g.: I attached a photo to my application form.
E.g.: Use this cable to attach the printer to the computer.
E.g.: In the UK , packets of cigarettes come with a government health warning attached to them (= on them).
E.g.: I attach (= am sending, usually with a letter) a copy of our latest report.
E.g.: Please, find attached the report you asked for yesterday.
E.g.: Please, see the attached report for budget estimate.

Keep sb posted (v): 1- to make sure that someone always knows what is happening.
E.g.: Keep me posted on anything that happens while I’m away.

Shipment (n): 1- a large amount of goods sent together to a place, or the act of sending them. 2- 装船
E.g.: A shipment of urgent medical supplies is expected to arrive very soon.

Clarify (v): 1- to make something clear or easier to understand by giving more details or a simpler explanation:
E.g.: Could you clarify the first point please? I don’t understand it completely.

Proceed (v): 1- to continue as planned.
E.g.: His lawyers have decided not to proceed with the case.
E.g.: Preparations for the festival are now proceeding smoothly.

Shortly (adv): 1- soon.
E.g.: We will shortly be arriving in King’s Cross Station.

Address (n): 1- the number of the house, name of the road, and name of the town where a person lives or works, and where letters can be sent.
E.g.: Any further correspondence should be sent to my new address.
E.g.: Please send the articles to the address given above.
E.g.: Her new address is 12 Main Street.

Address (v): 1- to speak or write to someone 2- to give attention to or deal with a matter or problem:
E.g.: The president addressed a crowd of 50,000 people.
E.g.: The issue of funding has yet to be addressed.
