Vocabulary

Fauna (n): 1-  all the animals that live wild in a particular area.
E.g.: While she was in Hawaii, she studied the local flora and fauna.

Megafauna (n): 1- all the large animals that live wild in a particular area.
E.g.: Scientists say that the arrival of humans might have been the responsible for the extinction of most of the Australian and American megafauna.

Rodent (n): 1-  any of various small mammals with large, sharp front teeth, such as mice and rats.
E.g.: She has always had an unusual fear of rodents.

Surrogate (n): 1-  a woman who has a baby for another person who is unable to become pregnant or have a baby.
E.g.: She has agreed to act as a surrogate mother for her sister.

Cripple (n): 1-  a person who cannot use their arms or legs in a normal way. 2- physically disabled.
E.g.: He was very sad after the bully called him a cripple.
