Vocabulary

Sibling (n): 1- a brother or sister.
E.g.: I have four siblings: three brothers and a sister.

Cousin (n): 1- a child of a person’s aunt or uncle, or, more generally, a distant (= not close) relation.
E.g.: My brother’s wife and I both had babies around the same time, so the cousins are very close in age.

Former (adj): 1- of or in an earlier time; before the present time or in the past:
E.g.: Barack Obama is a former president of the United States
E.g.: The luxury apartments are in a former factory.

Contradiction (n): 1- the fact of something being the complete opposite of something else or very different from something else, so that one of them must be wrong:
E.g.: You say that you’re good friends and yet you don’t trust him. Isn’t that a contradiction?

Simplistic (adj): 1- making something complicated seem simple by ignoring important parts of it.
E.g.: They have a simplistic point of view about the war.
