Vocabulary

Headache (n): 1- a pain you feel inside your head.
E.g.: I’ve got a splitting (= very strong) headache.

Migraine (n): 1- severe continuous pain in the head, often with vomiting and difficulty in seeing. 2- 偏头痛
E.g.: Do you suffer from migraine ?
E.g.: Considering the amount of stress she’s under, it’s not surprising she keeps getting migraines.

Alpha and omega (phr): 1- the beginning and the end.
E.g.:  According to the boss, this is the alpha and omega of the plan.

Assertive (adj): 1- Someone who is assertive behaves confidently and is not frightened to say what they want or believe.
E.g.: If you really want the promotion, you’ll have to be more assertive.

Turbulent (adj): 1- involving a lot of sudden changes, arguments, or violence.
E.g.: He is a very turbulent person.
E.g.: This has been a turbulent week for the government.

Interaction (n): 1- an occasion when two or more people or things communicate with or react to each other.
E.g.: There’s not enough interaction between the management and the workers.
E.g.: Language games are usually intended to encourage student interaction.

Resist (v): 1-  to fight against something or someone that is attacking you. 2- to refuse to accept or be changed by something. 3- to stop yourself from doing something that you want to do.
E.g.: The soldiers resisted (the enemy attacks) for two days.
E.g.: The party leader resisted demands for his resignation.
E.g.: I can never resist chocolate.

Variant (n): 1-  something that is slightly different from other similar things:
E.g.: There are many colas on the market now, all variants on the original drink.
