Vocabulary

Race (n): 1- group, especially of people, with particular similar physical characteristics, who are considered as belonging to the same type, or the fact of belonging to such a group.
E.g.: People of many different races were living side by side.

Ethnicity (n): 1- a large group of people who have the same national, racial, or cultural origins, or the state of belonging to such a group.
E.g.: People shouldn’t discriminate others based on ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.

Sexual Orientation (n): 1- the fact of someone preferring to have sexual relationships either with men, or with women, or with both.
E.g.: Everyone will be treated equally, regardless of sexual orientation.

Preference (n): 1- the fact that you like something or someone more than another thing or person. (v: Prefer)
E.g.: Her preference is for comfortable rather than stylish clothes.

Band (n): 1-  a group of musicians who play modern music together.
E.g.: The Beatles were probably the most famous band in the world.

Shed tears / blood / etc. (v): 1- to produce tears, light, blood, etc..
E.g.: She shed a few tears at her daughter’s wedding.
E.g.: So much blood has been shed (= so many people have been badly hurt or killed) in this war.

Crumble (v): 1- to break, or cause something to break, into small pieces:
E.g.: She nervously crumbled the bread between her fingers.
E.g.: The cliffs on which the houses are built are starting to crumble.

Tumble (v): 1- to fall quickly and without control:
E.g.: I lost my footing and tumbled down the stairs.
E.g.: At any moment the whole building could tumble down
