Homework given was to prepare the difference with living expenses between china and the UK.

speaking focused on the differences between the UK and china. new vocabulary introduced was used to discuss these differences.

Vocabulary

broaden horizons (to broaden ones horizons) – to learn a lot more and become wiser, more knowledgable etc
eg. I love to travel because it broadens my horizons

Laid back – relaxed personality
eg. I am very laid back

living expenses – the costs of life
eg. I think the living expenses in Shanghai are higher than in Hangzhou

mentality – the way you think / the way your brain works / attitude
eg. the mentality of sports stars is really important

pace of life – the speed of living in a place
eg. SH has a faster pace of life than HZ
