Vocabulary

Viewpoint – how someone sees a topic
e.g. Whether this is a good thing depends upon your viewpoint.

Pronounce – to speak words; to say them correctly; how a word is said
e.g. Can you show me how to pronounce this word?
e.g. “University” is pronounced “you – nih – ver – suh – tee”

Home furnishings – products for putting in your home
e.g. Candy’s company produces all sorts of items for the home. It is a home furnishings company.

Manufacturer – a company that produces physical products; suppliers
e.g. The supply chain team is in charge of finding manufacturers.

Our own – something that belongs to, or is produced by “us” (perhaps a company)
e.g. We produce our own products.

Market – where you sell your products
e.g. We sell only in the Chinese market.

Grammar

A – one among many possibilities
e.g. This is a good topic to talk about.

Different vs. Difference – the first is for description, the second for things
e.g. China and the US are different. Once difference is that in China most people speak Mandarin, while in the United States they speak English.
Also:
China vs. Chinese – the first is for description, the second is a thing
e.g. I moved from the United States to China last year.
e.g. While in China, I have met many very nice Chinese (people).

American map vs. Map of America – if something is an “American map,” this may mean that the map shows America, or that it comes from or was produced in the United States. To say that it is “of” America can only mean that it shows the United States.

Speaking exercise

I think it’s not good a topic. It depends on what view to see these things. Maybe they have big different, but if parents divorce, you will go live with Mom or Father.
