Vocabulary

Class vs. Course
— A “class” could be just one time you go to learn something, or a whole bunch of times on one topic
— A “course” is only a bunch of classes on one topic
e.g. Today’s class was about African makeup.
e.g. I am taking a class on stage makeup.
e.g. I am taking a course on stage makeup.
But not: today’s course was about…

So – a good word to show the result of something else
e.g. I called him so that he would know about the party (the result of my calling is that he now knows that there will be a party; why did I call?)

Fake – not real 假

Eyelashes – the hair on the edge of your eyelids 睫毛
Eyelid – 眼睑

Edge – the end of something when it is flat and not pointy

Grammar

Makeup – use a possessive before this word when it means that you put something on your face (my, yours, her, his, their)
e.g. I did my makeup to look like someone else for the play.

Today I did a makeup for myself to be an African person. It’s my course. Our makeup class is in this term. It’s difficult for me to do makeup for myself to be a African people. I put up black foundation, and draw a wide eyeliner to make my eyes bigger, at jiajiemao, and use lipstick to have a big mouth. This is just a practice class. Then we will have exam class. To make a whole look.

Pronunciation

Mouth vs. Mouse – “th” is putting your tongue between your teeth

Wide vs. White – “d” has voice, “t” only has air
